In Serralunga d'Alba, BUGIA NEN encompasses four denominations, all DOCG, divided into two families. On one side, the Nebbiolo of Barolo and Barbaresco, wines of taut structure and slow maturation; on the other, the Dolcetto of Dogliani and Diano d'Alba, more immediate and with moderate alcohol content. The company's name itself comes from the cry «Bugia nen» (Don't move) from the Battle of Assietta, when outnumbered troops held their position: a resolve that here pours into the glass. The aging requirements confirm this. Barolo demands at least thirty-eight months of aging and reaches thirteen percent alcohol; Barbaresco requires twenty-six months and equally strict precision. Alongside these, the two Dolcetto wines bring energy and a quick pace, wines that advance rapidly without yielding ground. It's a range that brings together the patience of Nebbiolo and the readiness of Dolcetto, conveying through four distinct appellations the entire expressive scale of the Langhe surrounding Serralunga.
