BUSSIA SOPRANA di Casiraghi Silvano e C. s.s.

Silvano Casiraghi founded Bussia Soprana in 1992 in Monforte d'Alba, reclaiming the farming land his father had tried to leave behind. Since then, the winery has managed some of Barolo's finest crus—Bussia, Mosconi, Gabutti—where Nebbiolo ripens under the Langhe skies. The four denominations tell of two souls of Piedmontese wine: on one hand, the great red wines from Nebbiolo, Barolo and Barbaresco DOCG, destined for long aging; on the other, the Dolcetto, with Dogliani and Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba DOCG, more immediate and linked to everyday enjoyment. The work in the cellar extends the discipline of the vineyard: months spent observing the evolution of each cluster, one by one, followed by aging periods that for Barolo reach a minimum of thirty-eight months, the threshold that separates it from ready-to-drink wines. It is a philosophy that prioritizes time as an ingredient.
