Busulmona

For thirty years, Busulmona has operated in the Val di Noto, within the Monti Iblei DOP zone, which includes thirty-nine municipalities in southeastern Sicily. The farm extends across an agricultural mosaic—centuries-old olive groves, almond groves, carob groves, and citrus orchards—from which it produces a medium-intense fruity extra virgin olive oil, recognizable for its notes of green tomato. Here, the single olive oil denomination becomes the synthesis of an entire landscape, where olive cultivation coexists with other Mediterranean crops of the Iblean plateau. The highlight for visitors is the 19th-century palmento, restored and repurposed as a welcoming space. Within its walls, the company organizes tastings and tours that combine fieldwork with an appreciation of the hilly landscape, just a short distance from the sea.
