Barbaresco DOCGBarolo DOCGDogliani DOCG+1

The name comes from the Pressenda family surname, rooted in Monforte d'Alba since the early twentieth century. For decades, the company sold its grapes; only in 2018 did it bottle its first vintage, a Barolo aged for the 38 months required by the denomination. Four Langhe DOCG now define its perimeter, built on just two varieties: Nebbiolo, which gives body to the wines of Barolo and Barbaresco, and Dolcetto, which presides over Dogliani and Diano d'Alba. It is a narrow but articulated geography, where each denomination translates the same grape into a different accent: the tannic power of hillside Nebbiolo, the more immediate and fruity drinkability of Dolcetto. The choice to transition from selling grapes to winemaking marks a change of role more than of land, with Monforte as the epicenter. The family's connection to this corner of the Langa guides each vintage towards an idea of wine anchored to the place, measured by the long times that Nebbiolo demands.
