Ca’ Lovisotto
Prepotto · Province of Udine · Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Ca' Lovisotto occupies the terraced slopes of Prepotto, in the province of Udine, a long-abandoned territory that the family began cultivating again in 2016, replanting vineyards and restoring buildings nestled between forest and horizon. The recovery of this uncultivated land is not just a detail of the story, but the very foundation of their production. The activity spans three Friulian DOCG denominations, each with its own distinct vocation: Ramandolo for a concentrated Verduzzo Friulano, Rosazzo for elegant Friulano, Sauvignon, and Pinot Bianco, and Colli Orientali del Friuli Picolit for Picolit in both still and passito versions. The work is guided by enologist Luigi and his son Emmanuele, bringing different generations together in a high-altitude organic farming project. The winery welcomes guests all year round: climbing up here for a tasting is the clearest way to understand what it means to make wine at altitude and to recognize, denomination after denomination, the link between recovered land and wine.
