Cadore
Pozzolengo · Province of Brescia · Lombardia
On the Brescia side of Lake Garda, Cadore cultivates nine hectares of vineyards, a journey spanning three generations. Today, Patrizia and her daughter Giada manage the vineyards, which are distributed across three denominations: the two DOCs of San Martino della Battaglia and Riviera del Garda Classico, and the IGT Benaco Bresciano. This triangulation of areas reflects the variety of lakeside soils, where moraines and lake breezes create distinct microclimates. The work revolves around two pivotal grape varieties of this Lombard region, Tocai Friulano and Groppello, from which whites and reds consistent with the area's identity are born. The choice to stick with local varieties, rather than chasing international trends, keeps the company anchored to its landscape. Those passing through Pozzolengo can stop at the winery to taste these labels directly, discovering in a single tasting how the three denominations coexist in the hands of the same family.
