Calispa Spa

Founded in 1966 by Attilio Avino and now in its third generation, Calispa operates in Castel San Giorgio across two facilities covering eighty thousand square meters. The cornerstone of its production is singular: the Pomodoro San Marzano dell'Agro Sarnese-Nocerino DOP, the elongated fruit made famous by the Vesuvian plain, which here becomes whole peeled or filleted. The scale is industrial — up to one hundred and twenty thousand tons of fresh produce processed annually, destined primarily for modern distribution — but the qualitative core remains the selection upon arrival, when specialized operators discard anything that does not meet the denomination's standard. It is in that gap between field and preserve that the product's consistency is determined: a San Marzano that must arrive in the can with the same identity it had when picked. The company measures its reliability on repeatability, rather than on a single batch, balancing volume with the discipline of one of Italy's most imitated DOPs.
