CALORIO VINCENZO Az. Agr. di Calorio Bartolomeo

Montà · Province of Cuneo · Piemonte

Barbaresco DOCGBarolo DOCGDogliani DOCG+1

From Montà, at the gates of the Cuneo Langhe, Calorio Vincenzo manages four denominations that tell two stories of Piedmontese wine. The first is that of `Nebbiolo`, entrusted to `Barolo` and `Barbaresco`: titans that require thirty-eight and twenty-six months of aging respectively before release, with `Barolo` held to a minimum of thirteen percent alcohol, marking its more austere profile. The second story is that of `Dolcetto`, a more immediate and everyday grape, interpreted in two versions—that of `Diano d'Alba` and the broader `Dogliani`. The distance between these two registers, the red for long waiting and the one for young drinking, measures the breadth of the classified territory that the company controls. Each label remains anchored to the specificity of its zone, without the weight of the great names overshadowing the lesser expressions. It is a four-part portrait of a corner of Cuneo where `Nebbiolo` dictates the law but does not exhaust the conversation.
