Cantina Castelvecchi

In Radda in Chianti, from a high altitude where medieval silence dominates oak forests, olive groves, and vineyard parcels, Cantina Castelvecchi crafts Chianti Classico DOCG. The winery cultivates eleven distinct cru, recovering historic vineyards to extract Sangiovese reds of marked character—labels such as Capotondo, Lodolaio, and Solana, recognized in Italy and abroad. The fragmentation into parcels is not a whim, but the way the winery interprets the differences in soil and exposure of this high-altitude part of the denomination. Around the rows of vines, a landscape of villages and fortifications recalls how long the vine has inhabited these hills. The project combines the restoration of vineyards with a contemporary production philosophy, without betraying the grape variety that defines Chianti Classico. The winery is open for visits: book a tasting to sample the cru where they are born, following the thread that unites centuries of viticulture with today's craft.
