CANTINA SOCIALE DI CASSINE S.C.A.
Cantina Sociale di Cassine collects contributions from grape growers across three Piedmontese DOCGs, creating a range that harmonizes different styles. At its heart is Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG, an aromatic and distinctive red that requires at least 12.5% alcohol. Alongside it flow the Terre Alfieri DOCG wines, which alternate between the white Arneis and the red Nebbiolo, and Barbera d'Asti DOCG, aged for no less than four months and sourced from a vast area encompassing 165 municipalities. Three denominations, then, interpreted through the lens of cooperation: collective viticulture brings together vineyards that would struggle to compete in the market alone, defending their regional identity. It's a model that shares cellar facilities and discipline without flattening the differences between terroirs. The tasting room remains open: visitors can, in a single tasting, trace the arc from the aromaticity of Ruchè to the structure of Barbera, passing through the dual white and red soul of Terre Alfieri, and understand how this collaborative effort supports these hillsides.
