Cantina Tramin cultivates three distinct territories on the slopes of Alto Adige, each with its own unique character. The Lago di Caldaro DOC is the oldest front, dedicated to the Schiava grape in its rosso, classico, and classico superiore versions. This wine is made from three local clones—grossa, gentile, and grigia—with a minimum alcohol content of 10.5%. It is the wine most closely tied to the lake basin and its light, graceful style. Above this core, the Alto Adige DOC palette unfolds, where white wines—Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Traminer Aromatico—engage with red wines of different styles, from Lagrein to Pinot Nero and Cabernet. The Mitterberg IGT brand completes the picture with a broader scope, extending across 116 municipalities. The result is a winery that harmonizes alpine precision with variety, without flattening the three zones into a single identity. The doors are open for visits and tastings: the most direct way to experience the Schiava of Caldaro and the high-altitude varietals in sequence.
