Cantina Valle Isarco

Cantina Valle Isarco oversees three distinct terroirs of Alto Adige wine, united under as many denominations. The Lago di Caldaro DOC reds are based on Schiava—grossa, gentile, and grigia—an indigenous grape that defines the classico and classico superiore versions of the area. The broader Alto Adige DOC, on the other hand, embraces white and red styles, from Chardonnay, Riesling, and Lagrein to Pinot Nero and Cabernet. Completing the portfolio is the Mitterberg IGT, which extends its reach to include a production basin of one hundred and sixteen municipalities. It's a range built on contrasts: the fragrant lightness of Schiava, the structured variety of the Alto Adige labels, and the freedom of the IGT. Together, the three denominations paint a complete portrait of viticulture in this part of northern Italy, encompassing both international and indigenous grape varieties.
