Cantina Valpantena

Custoza DOCLessini Durello DOCLugana DOC+1

In the province of Verona, Cantina Valpantena brings together four DOC denominations that outline a broad geography, spanning 68 municipalities. The range extends from Turbiana di Lugana to the refermented wines of Lessini Durello, passing through Custoza and Monti Lessini, where Durella thrives on calcareous soils alongside Cortese and Garganega. More than four separate labels, it is a catalog of Veronese soils read through the grape varieties each prefers. Each zone imposes its own parameters, and the winery adopts them as constraints for precision: minimum alcohol content ranges between 9.5% and 11.0%, styles vary from dry white to aged reserve, and the palette of grapes—with Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Nero complementing the indigenous varieties—reflects the geological complexity of the area. Production thus moves across different registers without losing coherence, keeping still white and sparkling wines within the same logic of rigor. It is a work of mapping rather than specialization, which renders the Veronese territory in its articulation of soils and altitudes.
