Strangi Giuseppe operates a vineyard in Cirò Marina, producing Cirò DOC wines built on Gaglioppo, the defining red variety of this Calabrian microclimate. The estate works within the appellation's rigorous standards, crafting rosso, superiore, and superiore riserva expressions—each bound to minimum 12.0% alcohol and regional identity. Gaglioppo's dark fruit and mineral spine translate distinctly across the three tiers, from entry-level to aged reserve. At Melissa DOC's southeastern edge, Strangi also draws from Greco negro and white varieties, Trebbiano toscano, and Malvasia bianca. These dual denominations—Cirò's ancient Calabrian heartland and Melissa's broader 14-municipality zone—position the producer between two complementary terroirs, each with its own ampelographic rules and alcohol thresholds.
