Cantine di Nessuno

Trecastagni · Province of Catania · Sicilia

Etna DOC

Cantine di Nessuno looks to the volcanic slopes of Etna, where the hillsides of Trecastagni, in the Catania area, give voice to Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Mantellato, which define the denomination's mineral reds. Altitude and lava soils impart a recognizable tension to these wines, far from the opulence often associated with Southern Italy. Alongside the reds, the winery vinifies white Sicilian grape varieties to produce balanced *bianco* and *bianco superiore* versions, all above 12.5% alcohol. The winery is located within the protected area that brings together twenty foothill municipalities, a ring of towns arranged around the active cone. It is within this perimeter that the dialogue between ancestral soils, continuously renewed by lava flows, and the rarefied air of high altitudes takes place. Cantine di Nessuno captures that dialogue and fixes it in the glass, returning an origin where geology matters as much as the grape variety. Here, Etna is not an exotic signature, but a starting condition that every wine is bound to respect.
