Cantine Mothia S.r.l.

Founded in the early 20th century in Marsala, Cantine Mothia served as a grape delivery point for the Stagnone and surrounding areas after World War II. Today, the Bonomo family leads its revival after a complete infrastructure renovation. Inside, the winery houses a reserve aged in oak with wines over thirty years old—an almost inexhaustible reservoir of natural yeasts—alongside a temperature-controlled barrique cellar for subsequent aging. The house encompasses two regional denominations of different natures. Under Sicilia DOC, whites, reds, and rosés are crafted from Nero d'Avola, Frappato, and Nerello Mascalese, recognizable for their consistency and balance; Sicilia IGP, on the other hand, identifies the extra virgin olive oils, pushed towards high levels of total polyphenols. It's a dialogue between vineyard and olive grove that captures the character of the Trapanese region in two distinct products.
