Cantine Nicolini

Cantine Nicolini is located in Marino, a few kilometers from Rome, and works with two twin Castelli denominations: Frascati Superiore and Cannellino di Frascati, both DOCG. The ampelographic base is classic for the area—Malvasia bianca di Candia and Malvasia del Lazio, alongside Bellone, Greco bianco, and other indigenous white grapes—cultivated on volcanic soils that give the wines their mineral backbone. The two labels tell two different stories from the same harvest. Frascati Superiore is the dry, elegant white, taut with acidity; Cannellino, on the other hand, comes from late-harvested grapes and leans towards sweetness, yet maintains a freshness that prevents the wine from being cloying. It's a contrast that speaks volumes about the Lazio terroir, capable of supporting both dryness and late harvest.
