Cantine Riondo

Cantine Riondo encompasses two denominations from the Veronese viticultural heritage: Soave Superiore DOCG and Recioto di Soave DOCG. Established in 2008 as an offshoot of the COLLIS cooperative, the company works with grape varieties deeply rooted in the area—Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave—offering them in still and sparkling versions, always above twelve degrees alcohol. The declared aim is a natural expression of the fruit, allowing each vintage to reveal its unique varietal profile. While the two DOCGs share the same area, they diverge in philosophy and style: on one side, the dry structure of Soave Superiore; on the other, the concentration of Recioto, obtained through appassimento (drying of grapes). It is precisely this contrast that makes the territory legible, more so than the sum of its labels. The winery is open for visits: it's well worth scheduling a stop to taste the two denominations in succession and grasp, glass in hand, how the same area can speak two distinct oenological languages, from still white to the sweetness of passito.
