Cantine Torrevento srl
Corato · Province of Bari · Puglia
In the Torre del Vento district, on the Alta Murgia plateau, Cantine Torrevento cultivates vineyards overlooking the octagonal silhouette of Castel del Monte. From here originate three DOCG denominations, all bearing the castle's name: reds from Nero di Troia and other red grape varieties in Riserva versions, austere and requiring at least twenty-four months of aging, and Bombino Nero, the same land interpreted in a rosé key. The winery practices sustainable agriculture designed to let the indigenous grape varieties and the Apulian vocation of the soil — calcareous and wind-swept by the plateau — speak for themselves. The result is a range that brings together the power of long-aging reds and the freshness of a rosé, without one prevailing over the other. A visit is as much a part of the project as the harvest: one descends into the cellar and arrives at the tasting tables, where the Castel del Monte wines can be compared side by side. A concrete invitation to read the Murgia through its wines.
