Cantine Vitevis Sca

From Montecchio Maggiore, in the province of Vicenza, Cantine Vitevis looks to the Veronese hills: two denominations, both DOCG and both from Valpolicella, Amarone and Recioto. The vineyards stretch across the recognized area of nineteen municipalities, where Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, and Rondinella reach the maturity these wines require, before the appassimento that defines their style. The two labels are two outcomes of the same method. Amarone, with a minimum aging of twenty-four months, focuses on structure and complexity, pushing the dried grapes towards a dry and powerful red; Recioto preserves its sweetness, offering it in passito and spumante versions with a more measured aromaticity, as established by the regulations. It's the classic Venetian interplay between a meditation wine and its sweet version, interpreted by a winery that works with the Valpolicella appassimento tradition despite being located outside the provincial borders of the denomination, on the Vicentine side.
