CAPIZZI GENNARO - CANTINA CAPIZZI

Sessa Aurunca · Province of Caserta · Campania

Aversa DOCFalerno del Massico DOCGalluccio DOC+2

Cantina Capizzi, led by Gennaro Capizzi, operates around Sessa Aurunca, where the volcanic slopes of Roccamonfina gently descend towards the plains of Caserta. The portfolio spans five denominations: three with controlled designation of origin—Falerno del Massico, Aversa, and Galluccio—and two typical geographical indications, Terre del Volturno and Roccamonfina. Under these labels, the grape varieties that define northern Campania come to life: Aglianico and Piedirosso for the reds, and Asprinio for the sharper whites. Each denomination imposes its own regulations—delimited area, minimum alcohol content, vineyard yields—so moving from one to another means changing rules even before changing grapes. The range extends from dry whites to reds with longer aging, with forays into sparkling and frizzante, reflecting the variety of a region where volcanic soils and maritime influence coexist just a few kilometers apart. It is a work of precision that brings together five distinct wine grammars within a single territory.
