CAPO DI VIGNA SOC. AGR. S.S.
Motta di Livenza · Province of Treviso · Veneto
In Motta di Livenza, the Lunardelli family has been cultivating vines since 1950, when Alfonso began vinifying his own grapes; today, the winery continues under the guidance of Ruggero, an enologist, and his cousin Massimo. The renewal in the 1990s introduced modern equipment without breaking with the techniques deeply rooted in the territory. Two denominations define their production, both DOCG. The Lison is made from the Tai grape, a white wine with a local character; the Piave Malanotte, on the other hand, is a structured red, which the regulations mandate to age for at least three years before bottling. These are two contrasting styles—the aromatic freshness of the white and the aging potential of the long-aged red—that speak to the breadth of this plain between the Piave and Livenza rivers. The work combines family continuity with contemporary tools, with the denomination framing the daily effort. Visitors can taste directly in the cellar, where the two souls of the winery are compared in the glass.
