CARAGLIO Az. Agr. di Caraglio Gianfranco

In Dogliani, the capital of Piedmontese Dolcetto, Caraglio manages four DOCG denominations that represent two souls of the Cuneo area. On one side are the Dolcetto wines—Dogliani and Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba—built on the most emblematic grape of these hills, offering immediate fruit and straightforward drinkability. On the other are the two monuments of Nebbiolo, Barolo and Barbaresco, which steer the portfolio towards wines of structure and long aging potential. Bringing these two registers together means interpreting the same terroir at different speeds: the immediacy of Dolcetto and the austerity of Nebbiolo coexist under the same hand, a practice refined over time. The winery features a tasting room, where the atlas gives way to direct experience: a stop in Dogliani is worthwhile to sequentially taste the four DOCGs and grasp, glass by glass, how the face of a single landscape changes depending on the grape variety and aging time.
