Careglio

On the sun-drenched hills of Roero, Careglio cultivates just over ten hectares of Nebbiolo and Arneis, the two faces—one red and structured, the other white and vibrant—of a single denomination. This is a family-run estate rooted in Baldissero, a village documented since the fifteenth century, where viticulture has had centuries to calibrate itself to local microclimates. The Roero DOCG here becomes the exclusive perimeter of their work: no dispersion across multiple zones, but a concentration on a territory interpreted through its two symbolic varieties. Andrea Careglio leads the production, seeking the precise encounter between soil and savoir-faire, with wines that have garnered recognition from local to international markets. The contained scale is not a constraint but a deliberate choice: ten hectares allow for parcel control that a larger area would make more difficult. In essence, within a single DOCG, Careglio brings together the farming heritage of Baldissero and modern tools, uniting Nebbiolo and Arneis as the two complementary keys to tell the story of this corner of Roero.
