Carlo Cauda

In Santo Stefano Roero, Carlo Cauda cultivates his own vines and bottles within the confines of a single denomination, Roero DOCG. The clayey slopes of this side of the Tanaro river yield structured red wines from Nebbiolo and crystalline white wines from Arneis: two faces of the same brand, interpreted through a single terroir. The distinctive feature of the company is its vertical control of the entire production chain. Every step—from pruning to winemaking in the Frazione Sant'Antonio cellar—is guided by a non-negotiable principle: only their own grapes, treated according to internal criteria, from the vineyard to the seal on the bottle. This choice reduces scale but concentrates identity, making each vintage the signature of a specific Roero plot.
