Carpineta Fontalpino

Carpineta Fontalpino tells the story of Chianti Classico from its southern edge, in Castelnuovo Berardenga, not far from the Montaperti hill. The Cresti family's estate dates back to the late 19th century but took its current form in 1967, when Italo decided to make it a conscious reality. Today, it spans ninety hectares farmed organically, with about thirty dedicated to vineyards: a proportion that allows the surrounding woods and countryside to breathe around the vines. Sangiovese, alongside selected grape varieties, interprets the southernmost version of the DOCG here, where the reds tend towards a profile marked by the continuity of family work rather than the pursuit of effect.
