Caruna

In Cologne, at the eastern edge of the Franciacorta area, Caruna made a clear choice: to convert plots once destined for red grape varieties to the cultivation of Chardonnay. This decision redefines the company's identity around a single denomination, the Lombard DOCG of the traditional method, and around the gentle profile of Monte Orfano that shelters its rows. From here come spumante and rosé wines that intertwine Chardonnay, Pinot nero, Pinot bianco, and Erbamat, with an aging period of at least eighteen months to fix their finesse and tension. The result speaks less of the producer's hand and more of how the Brescia soil translates into the glass, vintage after vintage. The winery is open for visits and tastings: stopping here means verifying in person, glass in hand, how a single grape variety and a single territory can generate such diverse expressions.
