Casa alle Vacche

On the hills of San Gimignano, Casa alle Vacche has been cultivating vineyards for generations as a family business, navigating between two denominations: Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, the white wine that made this village famous, and the more versatile Toscano IGT, offered in white, red, and rosé. Alongside wine, olive oil is also produced, following the same agricultural calendar. The day here is dictated by the rhythms of the vine—selected grapes, vinified in the cellar, and then brought to the table—in a cycle that combines work and hospitality. In the tasting room, within the walls of the medieval center, guests sample the wines paired with dishes from traditional Tuscan peasant cuisine. It's worth stopping for a glass of Vernaccia accompanied by a local platter, to immediately understand how these hills translate into both wine and food.
