Located near Buonconvento, Casali di Bibbiano operates within the Orcia DOC, a denomination encompassing twelve municipalities spread across the Val d'Orcia landscape. The cornerstone is Sangiovese, complemented by dark-skinned grape varieties chosen for the Tuscan terroir, while white grapes play a supporting role, limited to 10% of the blend. From these, the winery crafts a range of expressions—red, riserva, and rosato—each bottled with a minimum of 11.5% alcohol, in wines shaped by the area's geology and continental climate. This denomination is among Tuscany's less celebrated, and precisely for this reason, it offers a clearer insight into the relationship between grape variety and soil, free from the superstructures of more renowned areas.
