Cascina Boccia

Dolcetto di Ovada Superiore DOCG

Cascina Boccia presides over the territory of Dolcetto di Ovada Superiore, where the hills announcing Liguria meet the clayey soils of lower Piedmont across twenty-two municipalities. Here, the estate's sole denomination also becomes its entire narrative: a Dolcetto that emphasizes the mineral component of the grape variety rather than its immediacy. The aging, extended for at least twelve months, serves precisely to soften the tannic structure and allow the dark fruit and depth that this hilly area can impart to emerge. With an alcohol content naturally exceeding 12.5%, each vintage explains why this corner of the Ovadese region earned the Superiore designation: not a wine for immediate drinking, but a red built on structure and high production standards. It is a territorial interpretation focused on a single name, and for this reason, all the more distinct and recognizable from vintage to vintage.
