CASCINA BRETTA ROSSA di Ravasini Giuseppe

Barbera d'Asti DOCGRuchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCGTerre Alfieri DOCG

Above the Stura and Orba valleys, in Tagliolo Monferrato, Cascina Bretta Rossa occupies a 17th-century stone building overlooking the Alta Langa. Giuseppe Ravasini vinifies on a hillock at 400 meters, an altitude that imparts a personality to the wines tied to the Monferrato hilly terroir, characterized by prominence and freshness. The range rests on three Piedmontese DOCGs—Barbera d'Asti, Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, and Terre Alfieri—alongside the winery's declared vocation for highly structured reds, from Dolcetto to Barolo. The philosophy is consistent: careful fermentations and long maceration on the skins, so that each wine draws body and depth from its raw material. The result is a range that prioritizes substance and time, where the aromaticity of Ruchè and the verve of Barbera d'Asti coexist with the more austere structure of great aging reds, all measured by the same standard of rigor. This is not an open-door winery: here, the story is told entirely through the bottle.
