Cascina Ca' Rossa

In Canale, within the Roero region, Cascina Ca' Rossa has transformed a past dedicated to orchards and hazelnut groves into a conscious wine reality. Angelo Ferrio manages the winery focusing on a single denomination, Roero DOCG, expressed in the two registers of the territory: Nebbiolo for structured reds, and Arneis for fresh white and sparkling wines. The reds mature for at least twenty months, according to the standard governing this area of nineteen Piedmontese municipalities. The hallmark of the house is essentiality: honesty and clarity as working principles, vintage after vintage, without unnecessary embellishments. This is a viticulture that prefers to say little and say it well, allowing the sandy soil of Roero—different from that of the Langhe facing it—to speak through direct and straightforward wines. The cellar is open for visits and tastings: an opportunity to personally verify how this pursuit of simplicity translates into the glass.
