From Nizza Monferrato, in the province of Asti, Cascina Collina spans three of Piemonte's most demanding denominations. Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG takes center stage: an area of seven municipalities where Ruchè, Barbera, and Brachetto compose reds exceeding 12.5% alcohol. Alongside it, Terre Alfieri DOCG extends across eleven municipalities with Arneis, Nebbiolo, and the grape varieties that complete its profile, while Barbera d'Asti DOCG draws from a much larger basin — one hundred and sixty-five municipalities — with a mandatory four-month aging period. Three such closely situated denominations highlight a precise intention: to interpret the specificity of each territory without flattening it into a single style. The soils of Monferrato serve as a common denominator, but each label isolates a different depth within it. The winery is open for visits and tastings, and a stop allows you to compare, glass by glass, how little one needs to move within these hills for the wine to change its voice.
