CASCINA DEL ROSONE
Agliano Terme · Province of Asti · Piemonte
Cascina del Rosone occupies a ridge in Agliano Terme, with its rows shaded by a centuries-old chestnut tree and an open view of the Asti Monferrato. On just 2.6 hectares, the estate focuses on conscious, organic viticulture, where the choice of a few parcels is more important than their size. Three guaranteed denominations coexist in the cellar, each with a distinct voice. On one hand, the Terre Alfieri wines, which alternate mineral-profiled Arneis with well-structured reds; on the other, Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, aromatic and elegant, an expression of a rare and circumscribed grape variety; finally, Barbera d'Asti, the cornerstone of the territory, which the regulations require to be aged for at least four months before reaching the glass. Reds of different temperaments and a mineral white together delineate the range of nuances this corner of Piedmont is capable of. Each bottle bears the mark of the ridge from which it originates — the exposure, the soil, the organic approach — delivering a coherent portrait rather than a collection of disconnected labels.
