In Barbaresco, Cascina delle Rose spreads its five and a half hectares of vineyards across some of the Langhe's most coveted terroirs. The winery's four denominations revolve around just two grape varieties, Nebbiolo and Dolcetto, yet they cover a broad spectrum: from the estate's Barbaresco DOCG, aged for at least twenty-six months, to Barolo, and the two expressions of Dolcetto in Dogliani and Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba. Every label is born from low-intervention agriculture, deeply rooted in the traditions of the surrounding hills. Since 1948, the Rizzolio family has overseen these slopes with an artisanal method, carefully managing yields and respecting the long aging times of Nebbiolo. The four denominations, read in sequence, trace the Langhe hierarchy of red wines: the austere structure of Barolo and Barbaresco on one side, and the more immediate fragrance of the two Dolcetto wines on the other. The cellar welcomes guests from all over, and a visit allows one to sequentially taste this progression from wines for immediate enjoyment to those crafted for long aging.
