Cascina Galarin, led by Giovanni Carosso, navigates three top-tier Piedmontese denominations: Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG, and Terre Alfieri DOCG. The correspondence between grape varieties and appellations is clear: Barbera for its most widespread red, the rare and spicy Ruchè for its Monferrato enclave, and Nebbiolo among the native varieties of the estate. Since 2016, organic certification has formalized an environmental commitment that the management already practiced, putting into writing their approach to the vineyard. Hospitality completes the picture: in 2006, an old stable with a hayloft was transformed into an agriturismo, overlooking the hills with views that, on clear days, stretch from the Langhe to the Alps. It's worth a stop to taste the three reds on-site and stay overnight, letting the panorama explain the connection between these wines and their hills.
