CASCINA LA DORIA
San Cristoforo · Province of Alessandria · Piemonte
Cascina La Doria cultivates its vineyards on the left bank of the Lemme stream, in San Cristoforo, just three kilometers from the historic center of Gavi. Here, alluvial soils and a protective microclimate nourish the Cortese vines, the grape variety that defines this sector of Piedmont's most renowned white wine region. The proximity to the waterway is not merely a picturesque detail but a factor that influences the freshness and profile of the wines. The winery offers Gavi DOCG in three versions — still white, frizzante, and spumante — each exceeding the denomination's minimum alcohol content of 10.5%, and all united by the pursuit of the mineral precision that the terroir demands. This range allows one to follow the same grape variety through different pressures and fermentations. Visitors to the cellar can directly experience this spectrum: tastings among the vineyards overlooking the Lemme allow for a comparison of the three interpretations right where they originate, understanding how the water and soil translate into the glass. Reservations are recommended.
