Overlooking the village of Barbaresco, Cascina Luisin makes Nebbiolo its center of gravity, bringing it to classic expression with an aging process that knows no haste. The four denominations of the house outline a precise Piedmontese hierarchy: at the top are the two great Nebbiolo reds, Barbaresco and Barolo, which require 26 and 38 months respectively before bottling. Alongside runs the more immediate register of Dolcetto, a grape variety that here takes two distinct forms — Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba and the versions from the broader Dogliani hills — designed for a leaner, more direct drink. It is a producer in full activity, organized around the respect for the production regulations (disciplinari): strict minimum alcohol levels, long resting times, and terroir constraints that define the most demanding denominations of the Langhe. Every bottle bears its imprint. The winery welcomes visitors: stop in Barbaresco to taste the four wines in sequence and grasp the distance, and kinship, between the power of Nebbiolo and the agility of Dolcetto.
