Cascina Maddalena

Cascina Maddalena operates in the province of Verona, on the Lombard side of the denomination, where the Turbiana grape finds the five municipalities of the Lugana DOC. From here, whites of varying degrees of maturity are born—standard, superiore, and riserva—starting from a minimum alcohol content of eleven percent, with the minerality of Turbiana signing every label. The declared choice is to slow down the winery's pace, crafting wines that demand patience and only yield intensity over time. Other white grapes accompany Turbiana, adding textural depth, in a project oriented towards continuous craftsmanship rather than volume. It's a way of staying within a single denomination, working it vertically, from immediate style to riserva, as an exercise in measure rather than quantity. No push for quantity, then, but a patient accumulation of detail that is only perceived when the wine has had time to unfold.
