Cascina Marchisio

Roero DOCG

On the sandy-tuffaceous hills of Roero, Cascina Marchisio practices measured viticulture, with contained yields to extract structure and aroma from the local varieties. A single denomination, Roero DOCG, but expressed in multiple facets: Nebbiolo for the reds, Arneis for the whites and for the sparkling wine. Each version rests for at least twenty months before reaching the glass. The family's choice leans towards agronomic balance rather than pushing for maturation: they let the land speak, the sharp contrasts of the hills around Montà, the vocation of the soils. The result are wines that interpret the landscape instead of forcing it, where acidity and tannin find a truce and the aromas remain crisp. It's a work of subtraction rather than addition, where the disciplinare sets the limits and the winemaker's hand steps aside to let the character of Roero emerge, between the aromatic freshness of Arneis and the backbone of hillside Nebbiolo.
