🏡 Tastings & visitsScanzo DOCG

On the slopes of Scanzorosciate, at the gates of Bergamo, Cascina San Giovanni cultivates a single guaranteed denomination, Scanzo, among the smallest in Italy. The grape variety is Moscato, which here undergoes at least twenty months of aging before bottling; both the red version and the passito reach, as required by the regulations, no less than 17% alcohol, figures that alone speak to the concentration demanded. However, a broader activity revolves around this denomination: a 360-degree agricultural estate that transforms local raw materials into tangible experiences. Wine thus becomes the culmination of a journey that includes seasonal tastings paired with local charcuterie boards and zero-kilometer picnics in the hills. Visitors can join one of these events: they are designed to connect the tasting experience with the landscape that produces it, and remain the most direct way to truly understand what the Scanzo denomination signifies.
