Cascina Sassi San Cristoforo sits on a hilltop in Neive, overlooking the Nebbiolo district of the Langhe. Established in 1997, the winery is managed by Davide Carniel, who personally oversees every step, from vineyard to bottle. His work focuses on four DOCG denominations, with a particular emphasis on long-aging reds: Barolo and Barbaresco, which age for thirty-eight and twenty-six months respectively in large barrels and barriques, represent the most ambitious part of their production. Alongside these two Nebbiolo wines, Dolcetto finds a dual expression in the DOCG of Diano d'Alba and the Dogliani area, creating a portfolio entirely rooted in the hilly Cuneo region. This is a directly managed estate, where its contained scale allows for meticulous control over every decision.
