Casella
Dolegna del Collio · Province of Gorizia · Friuli-Venezia Giulia
In Dolegna del Collio, Casella brings together three of Friuli's most demanding white DOCGs, each with a distinct character. Ramandolo is born from Verduzzo Friulano and becomes a sweet wine of great fortitude, with a minimum of 14% alcohol and no concessions to waiting: it must be harvested at the right moment. Rosazzo, on the other hand, is a matter of balance, a measured blend of Friulano, Sauvignon, and Pinot bianco that plays the card of minerality. Completing the trio is Picolit, the rarest white of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, which pushes up to a minimum of 15% alcohol and rounds out the portfolio with its rarity. Three denominations, three ways of interpreting Friulian sweet and dry, all rooted within the terroir boundaries of Collio. The winery welcomes visitors and transforms tasting into a reading of the territory: those who book can sample Ramandolo, Rosazzo, and Picolit in sequence, grasping firsthand the distance that separates a dried Verduzzo from a Picolit and the mineral grammar that binds them together.
