Greve in Chianti · Province of Firenze · Toscana
Chianti Classico DOCG
In the northeastern Chianti Classico zone, Castellaccio commands 47 hectares across the slopes of the Monti del Chianti, between 400 and 600 metres elevation. The estate takes its name from the archaeological remains of the medieval Lucolena fortress, whose ruins dot the surrounding hillsides. Vineyards and olive groves intermingle with ancient woodlands here, where Sangiovese and complementary red varieties gain elegant aromatic depth from the cooler altitude. All vines are registered with the Chianti Classico Consortium and carry the Gallo Nero mark.
