Consorzio Produttori Patate Altopiano Silano is Calabria's leading potato alliance, uniting over 60 farms across roughly 800 hectares of the Sila plateau. Founded in 2003, the cooperative aggregates more than 300,000 quintals annually—the region's sole recognized producer organization for potatoes. Elevation above 1,200 meters in the heart of the Sila National Park creates the distinctive profile of Patata della Sila IGP: high dry matter, superior frying quality, and storage stability without preservatives. The Consorzio serves as the territory's primary commercial hub, expanding steadily in both industrial and fresh-market segments.
