Emanuele Garatti works the volcanic clay soils of Calosso, where three distinct DOCG denominations overlap: Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, Terre Alfieri, and Barbera d'Asti. The winery moves fluidly between the rare Ruchè grape and the regional staples of Barbera and Arneis, each varietal expressing the limestone-rich terroir that defines this corner of Piedmont. His reds spend measured months developing structure; his whites capture the minerality of the zone.
