Filippo Grasso

Filippo Grasso operates a six-hectare estate on Etna's northern slope, in the Calderara locality where volcanic soils and altitude define the character of each vintage. Four generations of the family have cultivated Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Mantellato for reds, alongside indigenous whites. Based in Castiglione di Sicilia within the Etna DOC zone, the producer channels the specificity of this 20-municipality region into wines that distil the mountain's mineral signature and biodynamic potential at 650 metres elevation.
