Franchino di Raviciotti Alberto traces its roots to 1940, when Marco Franchino transformed a mixed farm into a dedicated vineyard operation in Gattinara. The shift from bulk wine to bottled production accelerated with Gattinara's DOC designation in 1967. Under Mauro Franchino's stewardship from 1991 onward, the cellar embraced modern equipment while maintaining strict territorial expression—a philosophy evident in each Nebbiolo vintage. Today the winery crafts Gattinara and Ghemme, both DOCG reds requiring 12–35 months in barrel, welcoming visitors to taste the evolution of Piedmont's volcanic terroir.
