GRAN SASSO di PETRONIO GIULIO

At over thirty-five years, Azienda Zootecnica Gran Sasso has built its reputation on heritage breeds—Gentile di Puglia and Sopravvissana sheep—grazing the Aquilan slopes of the Gran Sasso massif. Giulio Petronio's operation produces Agnello del Centro Italia IGP, the protected lamb designation spanning 1,403 municipalities across central Italy. The herd of over 2,200 animals moves through pasture in a landscape of singular ecological character, where traditional ovine husbandry integrates cereals, legumes, and dairy into a modern yet rooted agricultural framework.
