Grifalco

Grifalco pursues single-parcel winemaking in Venosa, where the Piccin family established the winery in 2004 after two decades in Tuscan viticulture. Each of their Aglianico del Vulture Superiore DOCG reds draws expression from the volcanic soils and altitude-dependent terroir of Monte Vulture's slopes. The ancient Aglianico varietal—recognizable by its small clusters and deeply pigmented berries—undergoes 36 months of aging to develop the complexity these volcanic microclimates demand.
